Delhi Capitals Beat Rajasthan Royals, Oust Mumbai Indians From Top Spot
The race for the apex position in the points table of IPL 2020 continues as Delhi Capitals after beating Rajasthan Royals in 23rd match of the tournament toppled Mumbai Indians from the peak. Put to bat first after losing toss, Delhi scored 184 runs with hard-hitting show of Shimron Hetmyer being the prime reason for this. Hetmyer bagged 45 runs of just 24 deliveries in last overs, taking Delhi above par score. However, it was the Capitals' bowling that came all guns blazing. Under pressure of chasing the target of 185 runs, Rajasthan could not face the depth of the Capital's bowling line-up. While Delhi's always-performing Kagiso Rabada took three wickets and retained 'Purple Cap' with increased margin, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis took 2 wickets each. Consequently, Rajasthan collapsed at 138 in 19.4 overs and lost the match by 46 runs. Ashwin, due to his prodigious bowling-spell in the powerplay, was given 'Man of the Match' award.
