The Delhi High Court has asked the Union and the state government last time to file a reply against the PIL filed for the recognition and registration of same-sex marriages in India. Granting three-week time, the court on January 8 asked the governments to file a counter-affidavit and scheduled the next hearing on February 25. The PIL was filed by Abhijit Iyer-Mitra and others seeking ratification of same-sex marriages under three different marriage acts.
