Depletion Of Artic Hunt Areas Forces Polar Bears To Eat Seabirds' Eggs
A study published in the Royal Society Open Science journal has revealed that polar bears are forced to eat seabirds' eggs instead of seals, their usual prey. Reportedly, this dietary adaptation is driven by the climate change-led global warming that is shrinking the Artic hunting areas. Forced to hunt on the mainland, bears are also invading human-inhabited land. Notably, only 25,000 polar bears are left in the world.
