Domestic Air Travel To Get Dearer As Govt Hikes Fare Limits By 10-30%
The Civil Aviation Ministry has decided to increase the lower and upper limits on domestic airfares by 10-30% until March 31, 2021 or further orders. The increment will hike airfares along seven bands of flights based on different time durations. Earlier, in May 2020, the DGCA had ordered airliners to float 40% tickets of a flight between the lower and upper limits. Meanwhile, the flights are currently operating at 80% capacity than the pre-COVID-19 levels.
