EC Moves Madras HC To Stop Media From Reporting Oral Observations

Following Madras High Court’s remark of pressing "murder charges" on the Election Commission, the poll body has moved to the apex court to stop media from reporting oral observations. The EC said, "These reports have tarnished the image of the Election Commission..as independent constitutional agency”, citing no evidence suggest elections caused COVID-19 surge. The poll regulator also condemned the police complaint filed against it following a COVID-19 death in Bengal.
