Editors Guild Urge Release Of Manipuri Journos Booked Under Sedition
Terming the arrests of three Manipuri journalists as a violation of free speech, the Editors Guild of India has demanded their release. Demanding their immediate release and withdrawal Sedition and UAPA Act charges, the Guild called the police move as a threat to democracy. Reportedly, the police arrested ‘The Frontier Manipur’ website’s Editor-in-chief Sadokpam Diren, executive editor Paojel Chaoba and writer M. Joy Luwang for analyzing Manipur's political situation.
