Employee Receives Rs 16 crore From Coal India To Treat Daughter's Rare Genetic Disease
An official from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) said that the company paid Rs 16 crore to its employee. According to reports, the employee's 2-year-old daughter suffers from a rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy and requires an injection called Zolgensma worth that amount. The disease affects motor neurons present in the spinal cord progressively leading to muscle weakness. The medicine had to be imported from the United States.
