Ex-Cop Derek Chauvin Found Guilty Of George Floyd's Murder
Ex- Minneapolis cop, Derek Chauvin (45) was convicted for a second and third-degree murder and manslaughter of George Floyd on April 20. Previously released on bail, a racially diverse jury declared Chauvin guilty after three weeks trial. The verdict was welcomed with cheers at the Minneapolis courtroom. Notably, Chauvin was accused of kneeling on 46-year-old African-American Floyd's neck for over nine minutes without mercy on May 25, 2020.
