Farmer Suicides Spike During Lockdown: Maharashtra

A reply to an RTI query has reported, that at least 206 farmers committed suicide during coronavirus induced lockdown from March to May in Amravati Division of Maharashtra. The five districts of the Amravati division - Buldhana, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal and Amravati reported 55 farmer suicides in March, 48 in April and 103 in May.
