FIR Against Kamal Nath For 'Indian Variant' Corona Remark
Several BJP leaders on May 23 lodged an FIR against former MP CM Kamal Nath, after the latter called coronavirus' B.1.617 variant as "Indian variant" in a press conference. The case has been registered under the IPC and the Disaster Management Act, for spreading fake news, circulating false alarm and creating panic. Meanwhile, Kamal Nath has defended his stance and called the FIR as "an act of desperation".
