Fixed-line broadband service to cost one rupee a year

India is considering a proposal that reduces the license fee of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) earned from households for providing Fixed-line broadband service to one rupee per year. The proposal once implemented will reduce the cost of service and drastically increase people's access to the Internet. This will benefit Internet services providers too. Commercial users will not be benefited from this.
