Flash Floods: UttaraKhand Govt Announces Ex-Gratia Of 4 Lakh For Kins Of Dead

Following the deadly flash floods, the Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat on February 7 announced Rs 4 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased. While seven bodies have been recovered, authorities suspect over 125 people missing, majorly workers at the 13.2MW Rishiganga hydroelectric project. Earlier, the avalanche followed by a glacial outburst swept away the hydroelectric project site. Moreover, CM Rawat has also called for further inquiries behind the cause.
