Floods Hit Assam: 13 Dead, 1.8 Lakh Affected

Monstrous and continuous rainfall in Assam has caused an overflow in the Brahmaputra river. The intense floods have affected over 1.89 lakh people, taking the number of deaths to 13, on June 25. The disaster has affected four new districts of Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Golaghat and Tinsukia. CM Sarbananda Sonowal has directed the district officials to reach out to the affected people and provide relief materials, following COVID-19 safety protocols.
