Covid-19 has brought with it an unprecedented set of challenges that the commoners have to face. Covid-19 induced lockdown has affected the daily wage workers immensely. With no employment, people are struggling to earn their daily bread. In such difficult times, the Mahatma Sneha Kitchen has been helping the deprived in Kochi, by providing two meals in a day.

It was started with an aim to deliver one meal in a day for the underprivileged, in West Kochi. Due to weather conditions, the work got delayed and the secretary of the Shadi Mahal auditorium, Mr. Raashid Usman Sait, helped them by providing space to work. They started by providing food for 200 people in a day, and are now supplying meals to more than 4200 people.
