Former Gurdwara 'Granthi' Thrashed, Hair Cut By Unidentified Assailants In Rajasthan
An unidentified assailant allegedly assaulted and chopped the hair of a former "granthi" of gurdwara Gurubaksh Singh in Rajasthan's Alwar on July 22. A "granthi" is a ceremonial reader of the Sikh holy book. Tejaswani Gautam, Superintendent of Police in Alwar, believes Singh was targeted because of a historical feud between Sikhs and Meo Muslims in Alawada village over supposed love relationships. Further investigation is underway.
