Four Wins In A Row For Punjab As They Upturn Hyderabad With Death Bowling
Kings XI Punjab gained their eighth straight point after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in an October 24 thriller. SRH decided to bowl first after winning the toss and their decision seemed apt as well. Although Punjab started well, it could put only a below par score of 126 runs with almost run-a-ball knocks from skipper KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Chris Gayle. Eyeing to conquer the target, Hyderabad started off well too as David Warner and Jonny Bairstow put a decent total of 56 runs in the first 7 overs. A breakthrough for Punjab came only after Warner lost his wicket to leggie Devendra Bishnoi. However, it was a tremendous catch by substitute Jagadeesha Suchith to dismiss Manish Pandey that turned the momentum towards Punjab. After Pandey's wicket, Hyderabad, which needed just 27 to win off 24 deliveries, lost seven wickets for just 14 runs. Consequently, Punjab defeated Hyderabad by 12 runs and secured fifth position in the points tally.
