France Recalls Its Ambassador To US, Australia Over Submarine Deal
To show dissatisfaction over the emerging trilateral partnership between America, Australia, and the United Kingdom, France has recalled its ambassador to the US Phillippe Etienne on September 18. This move took place after President Emmanuel Macron's order. French Minister 'Jean-Yves Le Drian has raised concerns about the abandonment of the 2016 ocean-class submarine project by Australia. Le Drian called the rising drift between Australia-France an "unexceptional situation."
