Friendship Day: A Day To Be Grateful Of Those Unusual Bonds
Friendship Day is a celebration of unusual human connections that strongly bond unknown people together. It was the idea of Hallmark Cards' Joyce Hall, to mark a day on which people would celebrate friendships. Thus, in 1958 Paraguay witnessed the first celebration of Friendship Day and became an international phenomenon after the UN recognized it in 2011. This day is identified for the celebration of the platonic love of friendships, some personal, and many famous ones. Amos Tversky and Daniel Kahneman, famous for their contribution to mathematical psychology compared their friendship to marriage. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Stanton and Susan Anthony is known for their role in forming the US' 19th amendment, ran together a women’s only newspaper — The Revolution. Albert Einstein and Kurt Gödel complemented each other in a way that changed the outlook of science. Although friendships cannot be summarised in a day's remembrance, it incites one to be grateful for those bonds.
