Generic steroid dexamethasone proves to be life-saving for COVID-19

For severe cases of COVID-19, low doses of generic steroid dexamethasone reduced death rates by around a third, according to a clinical trial performed in UK. 

Scientists call this a ÔÇ£major breakthroughÔÇØ and suggest the drug be immediately used in treatment of patients. 

ÔÇ£It will save lives at a remarkably low cost," said Martin Landray, an Oxford University professor who is co-leading the trial.
