Global Political Figures Condemn Turmoil In US Capitol

The US political turmoil, which resulted in death of four citizens, has now invited criticism from various global political figures. Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the riots and stated, "Orderly and peaceful transfer of power must continue.” In the same series, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also said, "The United States stands for democracy around the world and it is now vital that there should be a peaceful and orderly transfer of power." The criticism comes after Trump's supporters stormed the US Capitol in Washington D.C. on January 6. The supporters smashed windows and scaled walls to find their way to the Capitol. Moreover, seeing the casualties and political nadir between the protesters and the metropolitan police, the Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has announced a "Public Emergency" for the next 15 days. Meanwhile, microblogging sites Twitter and Facebook have temporarily blocked the accounts of President Donald Trump for violating guidelines.
