Goa Government Likely To Legalise Cultivation Of Marijuana

BJP-ruled Goa government is likely to allow the cultivation of marijuana in the state for medicinal purposes. Announcing the decision, the state's Law Minister Nilesh Cabral stated the proposal was submitted by the health department. However, the decision that allows selling of marijuana to pharmaceutical companies as a natural drug has drawn severe criticism from the Opposition. Amarnath Panjikar, Congress spokesperson, stated that the govt has ''stooped to the lowest possible level".
