Goa: Police Detain Congress Leaders Wanting To Meet Environment Minister
The Goa Police, in the early hours of October 3, detained Congress leaders who went on a protest after allegedly being refused an appointment with Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar. Reportedly, the leaders, including Congress Pradesh Committee vice-president, wanted to meet the minister to discuss the Mahadayi River dispute with Karnataka. Calling it as "Jungle Raj", Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar has condemned the act by the police.
