Gold Meant To Weigh Ex-PM Shastri Handed Over To GST Department

Decades after former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri's death, the Udaipur Collectorate treasury will handover 56-kg controversial gold to the Central GST Department. Interestingly, the much-debated gold belonging to a Chittorgarh family was excavated from Gunwant Lal’s haweli and was handed to one Ganpat lal for safe custody. But, later Ganpat denied to return it, causing a legal battle. A plea filed in 2009 had demanded that the gold should be handed over to the Centre.
