Government Removes ‘Permanent Resident’ Criteria From J&K and Ladakh Land Law
In a revised law for Union Territories, centre has removed the ‘permanent resident’ criteria for purchase of land in J&K and Ladakh. Repealing some acts, Centre substituted sections of state's Land Acquisition and Forest Act. Now, the government, on a written request of Corp Commander or above may declare any area as strategic which will be above the new rules. The government may also allow Land transfers to person or institutions for education and healthcare facilities.
