Govt Approves To Procure 83 LCA Tejas Fighter-Jet Worth Rs 45,696 Cr

The PM headed Cabinet Committee on Security approved the procurement of 73 LCA Tejas Mk-1A fighter aircraft and 10 trainer aircraft at the cost of Rs 45,696 crore on January 13. Equipped with critical operational capabilities, the fighter-jet is an indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured fighter aircraft. Touted as game-changer, the 4th-generation Light Combat Aircraft would be equipped with Active Electronically-Scanned Array radar - an Electronic Warfare suite with the capability of air-to-air refuelling.
