The Centre has requested the Twitter to block/remove 1,178 twitter accounts alleged for spreading misinformation about farmer's protests. The government noted that these accounts are operated by either Pakistani or Khalistani users, promoting provocative content on the microblogging platform. However, Twitter is yet to approve the request. Earlier, over the government’s call, Twitter blocked 257 suspicious handles, unblocking them shortly after. Reportedly, Twitter CEO was witnessed in the news supporting pro-protest tweets by celebs.
