UP Govt Comes With 16-Digit Unique Code To Tackle Land Frauds
The Uttar Pradesh government has completed the updation of the Revenue Code rules with a 16-digit unique code to keep track of land frauds and 'Benami' transactions. The reform, which started in 2018, eyes to identify agricultural lands and their status in the state's 1,08,868 villages. Now every information including ownership details are available on the Revenue Board's website. Reportedly, in 2019, around 2,058 cases of fraudulent deals were reported due to the code's implementation.
