Govt Inks Deal With Mahindra Defence To Buy Special Vehicles For Army
The Defence Ministry has inked a Rs 1,056-crore military equipment deal with Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd. Under the deal, the government will purchase 1,300 Light Specialist Vehicles for Indian Army. Giving Impetus to 'Atmanirbhar Initiative', these indigenously manufactured vehicles will assist army in carrying Medium Machine guns and Automatic Grenade Launchers in fighting units. In addition, these combat vehicles will provide all-round protection against small arms fire.
