Govt Issues "Last Notice" To Twitter Over Compliance Of New IT Rules

The Centre on June 5 issued the final notice to micro-blogging site Twitter, asking for its cooperation with the newly-announced IT rules. The government termed the social media giant's approach as ""lack of commitment and efforts towards providing a safe experience for the people of India on its platform." Although the authorities have not given any deadline for the compliance, they warned Twitter of punitive "consequences" in case of non-adherence.
