Govt To Make Amendments To Mandate Social Media Platforms To Remove Or Block Flagged Content

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology intends to alter the law to require Twitter, Facebook, Google, and other social media platforms to remove or prohibit anything that has been reported to them by the government. These platforms will lose their intermediate status protection if they don't comply with the new regulations. The action is being taken amid rumors of a potential new IT legislation.
