Govt Plans To Hunt Spammers, Voice Phishing Via New Platform

The Communications Ministry on February 15 released a statement promising measures to bust spam and financial frauds done through phone calls and text messages. The ministry is working on platform for facilitating reportage of such frauds. Setting up of a new Data Intelligence Unit to aid coordination between all stakeholders in enforcement is also on the chart. The move is linked to the government’s plan to curtail telecom Vishing in hotspots like Jamtara and Mewat.
