Greenhouse gas emissions rebound rapidly post lockdown

Carbon dioxide emissions are rapidly rebounding as most countries have eased their lockdown conditions. Experts fear annual emissions of greenhouse gases could surge to higher than levels existing till before the pandemic, unless swift action is taken. 

At the peak of the lockdown, emissions had fell by a quarter. Conditions may worsen as people shun public transport due to fear of virus.
