Gujarat: Thousands Flout COVID Protocols At A Mass Religious Gathering
Amid massive COVID-19 cases surge in the country, thousands of women devotees on May 4 gathered at Gujarat's Sanand Baliyadev Temple flouting all the COVID-19 guidelines. Reportedly, the prayers were performed to stop the pandemic after the local priest said COVID-19 situation is because 'gods are angry.' Meanwhile, the police booked 23 people including the organizer of the gathering. Notably, the state recorded 13,050 active COVID-19 cases.
