Gujarat's Trust To Donate Anti-Untouchability Coins For New Parliament
For laying the foundation for the upcoming parliament building, Ahmedabad-based human rights organisation Navsarjan Trust has launched a campaign to donate coins engraved with anti-untouchability message. The 1,111-milligram diameter coins, made of brass objects collected from locals, will have an inscription reading "Will the 1947 dream of untouchability-free India be a reality in 2047?" alongside images of Ambedkar-led Mahad Satyagrah. Moreover, aiming for 2000kg brass, the trust has successfully received 500kg on opening day.
