Hackers Compromise FBI Email System, Sends Thousands Of Messages

The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that their email systems were hacked and compromised. The hackers sent tens of thousands of emails warning of a possible cyberattack, threat tracking organization, Spamhaus Project said in a statement. Moreover, the fake emails appeared to have come from a legitimate FBI email address ending in @ic.fbi.gov, said an official from the FBI. Hardware impacted by the incident was taken offline quickly upon discovery.
