Haryana Tries To Stop Farmers' March En Route To Delhi
To stop Punjab farmers' march towards Delhi in-between, the Haryana government on November 26 deployed police personnel on its borders. The police used tear-gas and water canons to deter the farmers. However, the farmers, armed with sticks and sword and by throwing stones at the police, managed to enter Haryana en route to Delhi. Urging the farmers to end the protest, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar invited them for talks on December 3.
