Heavy Flooding In Uttarakhand: NDRF, ITBP Deployed For Rescue
An unexpected steep hike in the water level of the Dhauliganga river has led to massive flooding in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. According to Uttarakhand Chief Secretary, the flood occurred due to glacier breach that may have killed around 100-150 people. To counter the situation, five NDRF teams, two ITBP teams, and 200 SDRF personnel have been deployed for rescue operations. Moreover, the flooding has damaged houses near Rishiganga Power Project.
