Hindu Activist Pans Louis Vuitton For Yoga Mat Made Of Cowhide Leather
Paris-based fashion company Louis Vuitton has drawn a criticism from Universal Society of Hinduism over its yoga mat made "from a killed cow". President of the society, Rajan Zed, has called the fashion brand's product "hugely insensitive" and "highly inappropriate" to cow-worshipping Hindus. He said it was "painful" to imagine performing yoga, "introduced and nourished by Hinduism", on the mat made partially from cowhide leather. However, the company has not responded to it yet.
