IMD Issues Red Alert To Uttarakhand & West UP Due To Heavy Rains

In the latest notification, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on October 18 issued a red alert, warning against heavy to very heavy rainfall at ''isolated places over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh''. Following the warning, Uttarkhand police has also stopped passengers from attending Badrinath Yatra and diverted them to safe places. Earlier, the department also warned of heavy rainfall activity over Haryana on October 18.
