IMD Warns of Heavy Rains in Few States; Monsoon Withdrawal Delayed Till Oct 20

According to IMD, a depression in the Bay of Bengal could go deep by October 13, causing heavy rains to many states including Maharashtra and Karnataka till October 14. The department has also asserted that the withdrawal of monsoon could be delayed up to October 20, as opposed to the normal October 15 date. Experts opine that this delay could possibly damage crops in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
