India To Advocate For ‘Fair, Just & Transparent Discussions & outcome’ At WTO Conference
India announced on June 11 that it will advocate for "fair, just, and transparent discussions and outcomes" at the World Trade Organization's 12th ministerial summit in Geneva. The 164-member WTO's approach to pandemic, fishing subsidies, agriculture challenges, public stockholding for food security, and multilateral reforms will be significant subjects of debate. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, will head the Indian delegation, which will take place from June 12-15.
