India Gets Hypersonic Wind Tunnel; Third In Globe After US, Russia
India's first Hypersonic Wind Tunnel (HWT) site has been inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 19. Reportedly, India becomes 3rd nation to have the facility alongside the United States and Russia. The site is a "pressure vacuum-driven enclosed free jet facility" that play a significant role in understanding and developing new aerospace and defence systems. Moreover, the Minister has urged scientists to make India a "Super Military Power".
