India Inks Defence Deal Worth $50 Million With Maldives
Strengthening the strategic partnership, India on February 21 signed a $50 million defence Line of Credit (LOC) agreement with the Maldives. The deal aims to facilitate capability building in maritime domain. The move came as India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on a two-day visit to the island nation. Jaishankar held a "cordial meeting" with Maldivian Defence Minister Mariya Didi as well. Moreover, Jaishankar expressed India's commitment to be a reliable security partner.
