India Looking to Privatize Most State-Owned Banks

According to the Government and banking sources, India is looking at reducing government-owned banks to just five as part of an overhaul of the banking industry, by privatizing more than half of state-owned banks. This will be executed by selling the majority of stakes of Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Punjab & Sind Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and UCO Bank.
