India might get 4.4 degrees hotter by century end: Government report

India's average temperature might increase by 4.4 degrees Celsius by the end of the century, with 3-4 times intense heat waves, according to a government report on the impact of climate change. The temperatures of warmest day and coldest night might rise by 4.7 degrees and 5.5 degrees, respectively. During 1901-2018, India's temperature increased by 0.7 degree Celsius.
