India & Namibia Sign MoU; Likely To Reintroduce Cheetahs After 7 Decades
India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Namibia, seeking to reintroduce cheetahs into the country after seven decades. By August 15, Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park is likely to receive the first tranche of cheetahs. A draft agreement has been signed for the trade of 12 cheetahs, and the final one is likely to be signed soon. Reportedly, India is trying to get the cheetahs before 75th Independence Day.
