India Records 16,764 COVID-19 Cases; Omicron Tally Stands At 1,270

India reported 16,764 new COVID-19 cases, 7,585 recoveries, and 220 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the data of Union Health, released on December 31. The recovery rate is said to be at 98.36% and the active caseload stands at 91,361. The Omicron tally reached 1,270 cases in India. Out of 1,270 cases, Maharashtra is responsible for 450 cases, followed by Delhi (320), Kerala (109), Gujarat (97).
