India Reports 2.47 Lakh Fresh COVID-19 Cases, Rises By 27%

The Union Ministry of Health said that India reported 2,47,417 new COVID-19 cases, 84,825 recoveries, and 481 deaths in the last 24 hours, on January 13, which is 27% higher than January 12. Meanwhile, India's Omicron tally has climbed to 5,488. Reportedly, Maharashtra reported 1,367 Omicron cases and Delhi (549). The daily positivity rate in the country stands at 13.11%. Notably, India administered 153 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses to people.
