India Supports UN Removing Cannabis From Dangerous Substances List
India has supported the removal of cannabis and cannabis resin (charas) from the list of 'most dangerous substances' at the 63rd session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) on December 2. With majority of the member countries (27-25) supporting the deletion of cannabis from the list, the UNCND has now paved the way for its medicinal and therapeutic use. However, India’s NDPS Act restricts the production, sale and use of cannabis.
