India's COVID-19 Cases Breaches 35K Mark; Omicron Tally Climbs To 1,892

India reported 37,379 new COVID-19 cases, and 124 deaths in the past 24 hours, said the Union Health Ministry, on January 4. India's active cases stands at 1,71,830, recoveries at 3,43,06,414, while the total death toll claimed to 4,82,017. The Omicron variant of coronavirus cases reached 1,892 in the country. Maharashtra has so far recorded 568 cases, followed by Delhi (382), Kerala (186), Rajasthan (174), and Gujarat (152).
